I-294 Highway, Northbound

Transit via commercial bus liner
I do believe the saddest part is over. All the fulltime soldiers at the armory helped us carry our bags to the busses and took the time to wish us well…  I was touched by their devotion. As we were pulling out I looked to my right and saw a woman holding a baby. She was waving the child’s hand at us. Thinking of the people with children is sadder to me than my own situation. I think to myself that that’s very unlike me. But then again, this sort of situation brings out a lot of emotions you didn’t think you had.
T minus 4 hours and we will begin our training. God I hope it moves swiftly so that day 1 can start in country.
Just some thoughts on this fine group of people I’ll be spending the next 12-18 months with. They are the most intelligent, caring, hilarious, and well rounded individuals I think I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. I have no doubt in their abilities and their devotion to each other. If anything, we will watch each other physically and emotionally making sure that we all come back as stable as when we left.
