Songs to Save the World: Journal 1/14/06
When I rotate between day and night shift, I force myself to stay awake as long as possible the night before to adjust my sleeping pattern. At around 3:30 am I think I was feeling a bit dilerious because I found a list of songs I had scrolled down on a note pad the next day. I titled the list “Songs That Will Save the World”. And next to each song I wrote exactly why this particular song would make a difference… My comments were so trite I couldn’t help but laughing at myself. I made remarks like, “Every note in this song is perfect except for the botched one in the acoustic guitar at 2 min 33 sec. And that one note makes it even more spectacular.” or…. “You don’t realize that this song will save the world until at about 1 min 53 seconds. Then everything is so very clear.”
So without further adeu, Jami’s first step into madness… the mix tape to fix all the worlds problems!

Fairly extensive list, eh? My madness aside, I realized the next day that all of these songs give me a certain pang in my stomach at one point or another in their playback. These are the kinds of songs that make you stop what your doing and just listen. The meaning or lyrics don’t really matter… it’s the music that does.
Congratulations to everyone that made the list and better luck next year to all the artists vying for a coveted spot on the “Save the World” sound track.
p.s. Jokes aside, I encourage everyone to get on BearShare or whatever kind of music ripping program you kids are using these days and get the songs.
