Proof of madness! Journal: 6/5/06

 

I’ve been told that at some point during a deployment a unit will go a little wacky.  I think it’s a mixture of having to deal with a different environment for so long and boredom.  At this point it’s safe to say that the unit I’m in has offically hit that mark.  So without further adu…..

Come one and all!  Boys and Girls!  The jackels and the fiends…  the crazy and sane!  You’re offically invited to the greatest event of the year! 

The 2006 Vomit Extravaganza!

**Featuring 11 of my units finest soldiers, a $275 pot, and an ample supply of Epicac!**

(For those of you unfamiliar with Epicac, it’s usually administered to patients who ingested something poisonous… therefore making them vomit whatever nastiness is in their tummies.)

Someone here had the brilliant idea of taking Epicac and seeing who can hold off from vomiting for the longest.  Each person who entered put in $25 and winner would take all!  I was astounded by how many people actually participated.  (Half of which were female.)

I, of course, was in the middle of a work shift.  Sadly, I wasn’t able to participate.  BUT.. after about 30 minutes, I started hearing “ohhhh!!” and “gross!!” drift back to my desk.  The crowd of people that gathered to watch started to really get into the show apparently.  And lucky for me, the whole thing was documented by the spectators.

I’ve never seen so many photographs of vomit in my life.  I’ll spare you from the particularly “juicy” shots.  Here’s a few for your viewing pleasure:
