Dangnabit!
We’re starting to sound like Cubs fans… “There’s always next year.” The whole world knows that the Bears lost the Super Bowl by now. Last night my cell phone was suspiciously silent after the game. It’s the first Sunday since I’ve been home from Iraq that it wasn’t blowing up. Then again, I didn’t call a soul either.
It’s a dark, dark day in Chicago. Not only are we all walking a thin line of depression over their loss, but it’s also the coldest day of the year. -15 F with wind chill (-26 Celsius).
And for me, I woke up with one of the most intense migraines I’ve ever had. I’m sure the beer from last night was also affecting me, but it felt much more than just a simple hangover. Every time I blinked I felt nauscious. I was crippled by any movement or sounds. I spent half the morning running to the toilet. It’s odd how migraines have such a violent physical effect.
Life can’t stop for a migraine though.
With my wounded Bears pride and migraine in tow, I ventured out to class in our arctic weather. If it was any other day I think I would have just hibernated for the next 24 hours. But alas, I had an important presentation to do. Now that I’ve survived that without vomiting mid sentence, I’m calling it a day.

Ya know I was told up here by a couple of crappy packer fans that “it would be a cold day in hell when the bears won the supper bowl!” I thought for sure with this weather it was going to happen last night!
GO BEARS!! YOU DID GOOD ANYWAYS!!

I want to give up, but I can’t give up on next year. They best hope they play better the next time. Or else.
