Love thy neighbor?

in My Life in General

My upstairs neighbor has been typing on an old fashioned typewriter maniacally for the last 30 minutes. It’s an unusual turn of events as I’ve never heard him do anything loudly upstairs besides storm out of his house at 8:55 every morning. In the four months that I’ve lived in my little studio, his presence has only been noticeable when he makes microwaved popcorn or Hamburger Helper. But the incessant typing! I take back all the times I said that I wanted a typewriter.

He better be writing a friggin’ literary masterpiece.

i enjoy following your adventures in academia… it seems not much has changed since i was an undergraduate…

in a “kind-of-related” point… i was looking at your helium link and read your gardening story, as well as wome of the others… i was wondering if you had heard or read a book entitled “seedfolks?” its a thin volume i’ll be teaching this spring to my middle schoolers. it is about how a communtiy garden in cleveleand brings a neighborhood together… check it out if you haven’t, it strikes me as the type of book that peoepl should experience… i often regret getting rid of my typerwriter, but then i rememeber waht a pain in the ass it was, especially when one is a poor typist ;)

“Seedfolks”, eh? I’ll certainly check it out when I have a chance!

Thanks for keeping my little part of the blogosphere alive.
