A lot of info in a small space
I have been writing beautiful little vignettes in my head every day for the last two weeks. Of course when this happens it also means that I don’t have any actual time to write them out. In order to help myself track what’s been happening in my life these last two weeks, I’m going to post a grocery list here:
- Attended my platoons first annul Iraq deployment anniversary.
- Two great friends began (and now finished) moving to California. I road tripped as far as Nebraska with said friends, staying at my Mom’s farm house. Got sick. Stayed a bit longer.
- The day after driving back to Chicago (11 hours, people.), had a job interview.
- Will begin working as an office monkey in one day.
- Another good friend’s house got flooded during our bad midwestern storms last week. Since I was in Nebraska, I didn’t make it to her house until a few days ago. It was shocking. Everything needed to be either thrown away or moved to a storage facility. I’m hurting mentally and physically (especially!) from the experience. But some how the little band of friends who managed to show up got 90% of the job done. Very impressive. FEMA should decide on federal aid today.
- I’m starting a new super secret website that I’ve had ZERO time to work on. Let me just say “multi-author” and “news commentary”. It’s gonna be a hummm dinger.
Now I’m off to buy some more “business casual” clothing. God, I’m such a tool.

a: much was accomplished yesterday, it was fun in a weird way, we’ll have to do it again sometime- only, you know, minus the property damage part.
b: chuck taylors are so very much casual footwear, they come in a variety of colors and styles, and can be used to accentuate any outfit.

ahhhhhh business casual as defined by betsy:
-combat boots qualify as bus cas footwear
-anything not denim also does, which included my beat up cargo khakis (sp?)
-plain tshirts in assorted colors also qualify.
- dockers for women are especially comfy and do-able for a more dressed up look.
-chuck taylors do not, i say, do not pass as casual footwear. but decent loong sandals DO.
i should have given you all of those goofy ass dress shurts i had. you may be able to find them for sale at goodwill in N’ville.
i love california. just saying. been to the beach 2 days in a row. gettin a nice tan. sorta.
