A Small Detail Needing Attention
Wow. It’s been almost two weeks since an update was posted. In that time I’ve been preparing for my journey by working my little tail off. I’ve completed almost every task on my list that I wanted to have done already and all that’s left is continuing to work and counting the days. But the one thing I recently realized that I must do before I go is update my drivers license.
I just got my international drivers permit which made me realize that my actual drivers license has some misinformation that needs correcting.
Last October I got Lasik surgery. (My post-op blog is here.) And I just realized that my drivers license still shows that I have a driving restriction:

It says, “Restrictions B - Corrective Lenses”.
Like the little OCD that I am, I can’t possibly continue to walk around with misinformation in my pocket. It’s like a little burning hunk of lies in my wallet.
There always seems to be one more thing to add to my list before I jet-set. Once I get my drivers license updated, all that’s left is consolidating the few belongings I have and start prepping the things I’d like to bring along. Lucky for me the airline I’ve chosen to fly on, British Air, allows two check in bags.  I’m planing on a suitcase, guitar, and my carry-on laptop backpack.

I’ve heard nothing but great things about BA. Sometimes I think it’s worth a few extra dollars to fly a little more comfortably when a 12+ hour flight is necessary. I’ve had far too many crappy military flights back and forth from the Middle East to know that.
I’ve never been to Great Britain. I do have a layover in Heathrow, though. Part of me is wishing I booked the flight with a longer layover there (maybe a day or two?). Just enough time to order authentic fish and chips and then go on my way.
Could I technically say I’ve been to London if my lay over is for only 2 hours?

I too cannot stand having little bits of information wrong. Nice to know I am not the only one.
H flew British Airways when she went to London with the band a few years ago. She talked about how nice the plane was and that the food was actually better than what she actually ate in London. Hopefully you will have a good experience with them too.
