I began my journey in the back of a limo receiving advice from an ex-trucker about God, Mississippi, and the untimely death of his big brother.
It was a fitting start.
Dad put me up in this ride which, since “the Town Car” was in the shop, scored me a cruise in a stretch limo to the airport. (Thanks Dad!)
A few short quotes from said driver.
Regarding Israel: “When God hits you, pay attention” and “I’ve been to many churches. Some are run by God and some are run by men. Be cautious of those run by men.”
Regarding worst American state to visit (he’d been to 44 of them): “Mississippi: nothing to see, nothing to do. Don’t stop for gas or directions if you value your life. And watch the roads because they’ve got dead dogs all other them.”
Regarding his brother: “Last May I was going to visit my 45th state; Hawaii. My brother has a condo there. Then he done went up and died on me. That’s just like him.”
Onto the airport.
I met with a co-worker at Chicago O’Hare airport prior to my flight. Strangely enough, she was on her way to Amsterdam the same day I began my journey to Israel. I changed some money to have a few British pounds in my pocket when I landed in London and she cashed in for a few Euro. We had a lovely chat together. Drank a beer. Then went on our ways. Have a good trip, Sherrie!
I had planned to sleep on the flight to London. It was a little over 7 hours long and a perfect opportunity to regain some energy for my day trip in England. Unfortunately, my neighbors had other plans for me. I was lucky to at least have the seat empty next to me. Of course, I chose the window seat.
But sandwiched in front and behind me was a snoring duet. They harmonized almost the entire way. Except during meals. At which point they happily ate, fell back to sleep, and one of them (I still can’t decide who) farted in 30 minute intervals. Needless to say, I soon came to terms with having to find sleep another time. Instead I watched episodes of “Entourage” and “Flight of the Conchords”. You hear that Nicole? Flight of the Conchords! British Air just gained a few points in my book.
The landing into London Heathrow was uneventful. Soon I would be on my way to spend a day in the city. More next time.

Sound like you had a wise man turned limo driver. The comment Regarding Israel: “When God hits you, pay attention†and “I’ve been to many churches. Some are run by God and some are run by men. Be cautious of those run by men.†Tha sound a lot more like our dial god, gold throne and big blond American ways. Look at it like this at least you had something good to watch.
