You should never feel guilt about pursuing your dreams, my friend. Sometimes i have guilt associated with packing up and leaving, but then it occurs to me that i havent been this content in years, and all of that disolves... absorb! enjoy! of course we all miss you, but that's an emotion of life. :) be brilliant!

Yikes!! Yeah, I can only imagine hostel showers are the same in every city. bleh. I can rationalize it in the short term (a week) but can't imagine doing it for several months.

I can only speak to the quality of the shower at the hostel in the Haight-Asbury district of San Francisco: not very pleasant, unless you like cold water, neighbors looking in at you from the uncovered bathroom windows, drunk/high hostel guests stumbling in on you because the door doesn't lock, and mold growing on virtually every surface, and a permanent quarter-inch of water on the floor. And that's even if you're lucky enough to actually GET into the bathroom when it's not occupied!
