Tagged Tuesday: Israeli Graffiti Part 10

Another life size tag discovered during one of my runs along the Mediterranean Sea in Tel Aviv. Even though this one may be pushing the line between a spray painted tag and a painting, I noticed the same taggers name appears next to this one as it does for many others.

Tagged Tuesday: Israeli Graffiti Part 9

Perhaps my favorite piece of graffiti so far is the hooded and masked man (or woman?) walking a masked dog.

Brilliant.

I’m also impressed by its size. It’s nearly to scale. Note the size of the soda can in the lower right hand corner of the picture. Most tags I come across in Tel Aviv can fit on 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper. This one is massive compared to the others.

Again, brilliant.

Tagged Tuesday: Israeli Graffiti Part 8

oops!!! Last weeks Tagged Tuesday got skipped.

Never fear! This week features TWO tags:

Israel Graffiti Gasmask Man

(above) Gas Mask Man at Frischman Street and Rabin Square. This piece references the gas masks distributed to the general population when Saddam Husein was threatening biological war with Israel. (note: The newspaper he’s reading is the sports page: ספורט)

And to the immediate left of the Gas Mask Man was a familiar duck:

Dudu Geva Graffiti Duck

(above) Dudu Geva’s cartoon duck. See my previous post about this cartoonist here.

Tagged Tuesday!! Israeli Graffiti Part 7

I’m posting two pictures of this weeks tag because I wanted to show the relative size that most pieces of graffiti come in here. I find it strange that such creative (and often meaningful) tags are made relatively miniature compared to their North American cousins.
